Eye Exercises and Learning Disabilities

Some optometrists (a minority) feel that reading is a visual perceptual task and employ optometric training techniques to treat educational problems. A joint statement by the AAP and the Academy of Ophthalmology noted that no scientific evidence has been published in support of these therapies.

Comment: We again need to demand rigorous science before subjecting our patients to manipulation.
