Quality Improvement: Doing It Right

Confused by all this talk about quality improvement? What is it, how do you do it, and what does it mean to you? Simply stated, quality improvement refers to organized, rational, scientifically valid programs that analyze what people are doingin industry, medicine, or any other arenaand then devise ways in which the job can be done even better.
There is a potential for marvelous changes in this concept. Conscientious physicians know how difficult it is to absorb relevant portions of the huge body of medical knowledge and properly apply those data to myriad clinical conditions. We welcome anything that can assist us in selecting the right information and using it to provide the best care to our patients.
