New Section for Pediatrics in Review

R. J. H.

Practicing pediatricians find, through experience, certain easily executed diagnostic or therapeutic procedures—often ones not described in standard texts or journals. Some are taught to house officers or passed on from one practitioner to another; many have never been formally written, and therefore tend to be forgotten, or are buried in articles on broader topics. The suggestion for including such a section in Pediatrics in Review came from Dr William Oliver, former chairman of the PREP Oversight Committee, and Dr Dan Chapman, a current Editorial Board member. They have prepared the initial contributions, but with this introduction, I urge readers to make contributions to the "Technical Tips" section by submitting their own accumulated experiences and wisdom about such technical procedures.
