Thanks to Dr. Pandya for sending me the following reference, which definitely should be added to those at the end of my article:

Bamji M, Stone RK, Usmani G, et al. Palpable lymph nodes in healthy newborns and infants. Pediatrics. 1986;78(4):575-575.

As Dr. Pandya added, one finding reported in that paper is the presence of palpable lymph nodes in 34% of well infants aged 4 weeks or younger, with the inguinal area being the most common site.

It was mentioned in the article that newborns do not have enlarged lymphnodes. Many of my colleagues and I have come across 2weeks and old with suboccipital lymphnodes mostly less than 1x1 cm. This was also mentioned in Nelson's Pediatri textbook as anormal finding. Any comment will be greatly appreciated.
